A month of My Life (February 2022)

 Hello there!

I hope this blog entry finds you well wherever you are. This February was turbulent and horrifying - personally and on a global scale.

Personal/ Private

I love being a teacher, but the past weeks were especially hard. So many things had a deadline, the students were getting on each other's nerves and tests wanted to be revised on top of creating good lessons. I am glad that we are on holiday right now and I wish I had yet another week, because I have so many projects I want to finish without rush!

Packing microscale-experiment-cases for the student's laboratory!

Finally our boxes are in order! I still want to add some, though!

Pretty, isn't it? It's a red cabbage indicator from pH 1 to pH 12!

Displaying my student's models and posters!

These DNA-models turned out pretty well! I love how creative everyone got.

On the other hand: My mother fell terribly ill and she can't either breathe or swallow. She already lost 10 kilograms (20 pounds) in one month and she is so weak, that she is afraid to die soon. The doctor's can't find anything and she is crying every single day. It breaks my heart and I feel powerless...

Wedding

Despite my worries about my mother, the preparations for the wedding have to be done. I sent out most of the invitations already (some are still missing though) and we had a test eating! It. Was. So. DELICIOUS! I can't wait to see our guest's faces when they try this amazing food!!!

The Crème Brûlée was fantastic!

The warm cheese with the honey-sauce is so mouth-watering!

The table was set so nicely! It was a joy to eat here!

Still searching for the perfect shoe! This one looked beautiful!

Art

I haven't drawn in ages and I feel worse and worse about it. After posting an emotional comic about this, I got lot of sweet answers! I wanted to give it another try and I was so amazed that drawing is so much fun! I totally forgot this feeling to draw traditionally and I really missed it! Fingers crossed that I will draw more regularly from now on! ;)

Nadeshiko from Yuru-Camp is such a sweetheart! I had lots of fun drawing her!

All the colours and materials I used for this ACEO, hihi!

I still had so many sketches and lines in my drawer, I was amazed!

Valentine's Day

We celebrate our Valentine's Day traditionally Japanese, so I make chocolates for my better half! Nevertheless I got roses, another bouqet of flowers and lots and lots of chocolate. <3

Turned out differently than planned, but have some bees (marzipan) on a bed of brownies and some oreo chocolate cookies!

Hobbies

This month, I finally ordered something fromJapan.com again! I was really sad when my Octopath Traveler artbook got lost in transit, so I simply HAD to buy it again! The Carole & Tuesday soundtracks are superb!

My manga loot for February! I got "The Promised Neverland" for free since to collecting points on hugendubel.de! I already read some of the manga and "The Diary of an Apothecary" is so DARN GOOD??!!

I knew the day would come were the 3DS-Shop would be closed, but it was still a shock. Now I am frantically buying games I wanted to own for YEARS! (There are still some missing, so I will show them in the next update). Here is my collection so far:

The DS/ 3DS is one of my most favorite consoles besides the Nintendo Switch...

I still want to download Yokai Watch 3, because the physical game already has moon prices!

Waiting for the pre-orders for the Treasure Box for Fire Emblem Warriors Three Hopes!

Misc

We went to the Creativ-Messe and had lots of fun discovering all kind of different crafts! The soap seller was especially interesting for us, since we make our own soaps!

I fell in love with this lamp! It's way to pricey (150€?!), but please look at this beauty?!

I use Mondly for 4 months straight now! It's a great feeling to do a little something for a language (here: French) every day! I still have to learn the grammar, though...

Upcoming Projects

I always have to do something besides my job and here are some things I want to start soon!:

We are allowed to use the big greenhouse this year, too! We already took measures to buy the missing windows!

Since I have a Cricut now, I want to make some beautiful mugs!

Tiny leaves for a new project! What will it be...???

Thanks for reading until the end! It's hard to concentrate on the good things in times like these... and every time I do, I feel guilty. I hope the next time I update this blog, the world will be at peace again. Until then: Stay safe!
